Question
The frequency of radio waves is measured in hertz, kilohertz and megahertz.
A radio station broadcasts on 92.4 megahertz.
(i) Express 92.4 megahertz in hertz, leaving your answer in standard form.
(ii) The wavelength, a , of radio waves in metres, is calculated using the formula,
a = ( 3 x 10^8 ) / f
where f is the frequency in hertz.
Calculate the wavelength, in metres, that the radio station, which broadcasts on 92.4 megahertz, uses for its broadcast.
