1. Real numbers consists of both rational and irrational numbers.
2. Irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be expressed as exact fractions.
Example: rt2, rt3, pi………
3. Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed in the form a/b, where a and b are integers
and b cannot = 0. Rational numbers include all integers and fractions.
Examples of rational numbers are —1, — 1 /3, 0, 1, 2, 2 1/3 ……..
4. The set of integers consists of …, —3, —2, —1, 0, 1, 2, …
5. The set of whole numbers consists of 0, 1, 2, 3, …
6. The set of natural numbers (or positive integers) consists of 1, 2, 3, …
7. The set of negative integers consists of .., —3, —2 and —1.
