Physics Tuition Singapore Secondary Science Tuition – Electricity Magnetic Effect
Magnetic effect
Electric current can induce magnetic effect.
If an iron bar is wound around by a conducting wire which carries electric current, the iron bar will be induced to become a temporary magnet known as an electromagnet
The electromagnet loses its magnetism once the electric current stops flowing.
Electromagnet is used widely in our daily life such as in a telephone, lifting heavy steel or iron objects, electric motor and door bell.
