    Kinematics – Key Concepts

    1. Speed is the distance moved per unit time
    2. Velocity is the change of displacement per unit time
    3. Acceleation is the change of velocity per unit time
    4. The gradient of the tangent at a point on the distance-time graph gives the instantaneous speed
    5. The gradient of the tangent at a point on the speed-time graph gives the instantaneous accleration.
    6. The area under the speed-time graph is the total distance travelled.
    7. When air resistance is negilible, all objects fall under gravity with a constant accleration 10 ms-2
    8. When there is air resistance, falling object will experiences deceleration until it reaches a terminal velocity. This happens when the weight of the object is equal to the air resistance

    Course Objective:

    To impart essay and case study answering techniques over the course of 6 lessons, 3 hours each. Students will acquire the important skills of answering questions with the correct Scope, Rigor, Judgment and Context.

    Course Focus:

    The course will cover the entire macroeconomics syllabus under the H1 syllabus for 2012 GCE A Level Examination set by Cambridge in collaboration with MOE. The exclusive focus on solely macroeconomics is due to the inter-connectedness of all the chapters under macroeconomics, and students are required to have a broad understanding of all topics before they can be adequately prepared to answer a macroeconomics question fully.

    Lesson Sequence and Materials:

    Students in this course will not necessary revise the concepts in the order in which the topics were taught in schools. Instead, challenging essays and case studies would be given every lesson to help students perfect their answering techniques during actual examinations.
    If the students request, additional notes will be provided to help students understand the topics better.
    Throughout the crash course, we will complete a total of 6 to 10 case studies and 6 to 10 essays that spans all key topics and ideas in macroeconomics.

    To find the inverse of y = x – 1/x
    Multiply the equation by x
    xy = x^2 -1
    x^2 – yx – 1 = 0
    using x = -b +- Sq rt( b^2 – 4ac) divide by 2a

    x = y +- sq rt ( y^2 – 4.1.-1) divide by 2
    = y +- sq rt ( y^2 + 4)divide by 2

    4 common errors in Normal Distribution

    1) Remember to sq root your variance when using GC
    2) For two independent events, variance is always ADD
    3) 2X + 3Y, remember to square the number 2 and 3 when finding the variance
    4) X1 + X2 + X3, when finding the variane, just add them together
